Another shot heard ’round the world.
“Why aren’t I 50 points ahead you might ask.” -Hillary Clinton, Sept 23, 2016.
Commemorative coin marking Hillary Clinton’s second failed presidential run.
I initially decided not to write about the election of Donald Trump. I did not want to gloat about the black swan we saw on the horizon, or how we knew the polls were wrong. However, we here at BecauseThisMatters got it right. Back in September when Hillary Clinton was ordering curtains for the family quarters at the White House, we told you what would happen. We had told you before Michael Moore gave his “biggest FU in recorded history” speech. It was Bobby Thompson’s home run, the Miracle on Ice, Rocky Balboa, and the colonists against the British Regulars, all rolled into one. It made you feel like Red Barber screaming, “The Giants win the pennant. The Giants win the pennant. The Giants win the pennant.” (more…)
[A guest column from a friend who provides needed answers to a movement of shamers. Shamers are those out there who feel the need to verbally bully people they disagree with in order to silence them into submission.]
Today’s message is for the faith-based conservative man or woman who has been verbally battered, bullied or guilt-tripped by a friend or family member with the message that if you voted for Trump you somehow are
Tolerance only for those that the far left can tolerate.
against them and you are no longer welcome in their world. There is usually a radical activist in your son or daughter’s life that doesn’t have strong family ties and wants to negatively influence your children’s minds to make sure their ties to family are loosened enough to break away. (more…)
Have Hillary’s Chickens Comey Home to Roost?
- To say this is an election season like no other is an understatement. The most recent events revolving around Clinton’s emails is like a never-ending saga. Like all great conspiracies, we need a pasty, a person to take the fall. The patsy in this chapter is none other than Huma Abedin. Hillary Clinton’s right hand, her second daughter (another one with zero resemblance to Bill Clinton) and possibly the person to be named as Chief of Staff in a Hillary White House.
All that might have come to a screeching halt. (more…)
It is Not an Election, It is a Movement
Mr. Trump Goes to Washington
In 1944 Thomas Dewey was running for President against Harry Truman. It was such a close race that one paper jumped the gun and announced Dewey as the winner. Which gave way to the now famous picture of victorious Truman holding that newspaper.

Seventy years later the media is no longer content to just report the news but has found that it is more profitable to actually shape the news. Or even go as far as invent the news if there is nothing that fits the narrative that they’ve chosen to sell.
Why wait for the last minute deadline, when you can write history before it ever happens. If it were just one single newspaper it would be one thing, but what if it is every media outlet? What then? Who do you trust when there is no one left to trust? Trust in yourself. (more…)
Tax Collector can Affect County Budget
Come the November 8th election who will become the 46th President of the United States is not the only thing that will be decided. Closer to home, other taxing issues are on the ballot. One of them is the office of the Tax Collector.
[Today’s post will be a little long, but it requires some upfront education on how the Tax Collector operates. – apologies from the mgmt.]
The Tax Collector is not a sexy position. Throughout history and fiction,
Is a $7 million Tax Collectors office necessary when nearly all the transactions are done online?
the Tax Collector was a hated man. This might have started with the Roman Empire where the Tax Collector collected the taxes that the huge empire needed to function. There were income taxes, sales taxes, taxes on crops, wine, and the production of olive oil. The Tax Collector would send Rome their due and keep whatever extra he could collect for himself. Backed by government force of Roman soldiers, the position of Tax Collector was a lucrative gig. (more…)
Break Up or Break Down
Most of us have seen this played out on TV or in the movies, or maybe in real life. When you are sitting across the table from your significant other, and they say, “it’s not you, it’s me.” It is a nice way of saying this isn’t working out I’ll be moving on now. If you could pick up the check, I would appreciate it.
Clinton asks why she is not up 50 pts. It turns out that it is nothing about her unlikeability, untrustworthiness, or criminal lying. It’s US!
Well, Hillary had one of those moments the other day when she spoke (screamed, yelled, shrieked) to a union group. Except Hillary did not take the blame. Quite the contrary. The video boils down to this;
“Why am I not up 50 points? IT’S ALL YOUR FAULT.”
When I watched it, my initial thought was this is a great spoof, perfect voice over, amazing computer graphics. Then I found out it was real, my jaw dropped. The only things missing were three ball bearings and an empty can of strawberries. (If that went over your head I direct you to The Caine Mutiny, great book, great movie starring Bogey.) (more…)
