The Kumbaya Ph.D

Demand the end of government-backed student loans.

Wayne State Univ in Detroit, MI has elected to drop its requirement in mathematics and is considering a requirement in “diversity” to graduate. This is more than just the most recent chapter in the liberal indoctrination of the nation and another notch in the belt of those looking to dumb down America. This is just plain insanity and a clear and concise reason to call for the end of government-backed student loans.  (more…)

Ballot Initiative Approved – Voluntarily hand over more of your hard-earned.

Once again the subject of taxes is upon us.  If the 10% increase from the county and 18% increase for Port St Lucie was not enough, we are now being asked to approve a ½ cent increase in our sales tax rate.

Seal of fictional Unicorn Park funded with real tax dollars. Is government spending your tax dollars wisely? Do they deserve more of them?
Seal of fictional Unicorn Park funded with real tax dollars. Is government spending your tax dollars wisely? Do they deserve more of them?
It will be on the ballot this November. Not sure of the title of the ballot initiative but it might have titles such as: THANK YOU, SIR. MAY I HAVE ANOTHER. IT’S ONLY THE COST OF A PIZZA. IT’S FOR THE CHILDREN. Or, my favorite, IF YOU VOTE NO, BABY SEALS WILL DIE.   (more…)

The Names Have Been Changed to Protect the Hillary.

I remember watching Dragnet when I was a kid. There was always Joe Friday that gave us that famous line.  The story you are about to see is true; only the names have been changed to protect the innocent. How far we have come from those seemingly simple times. (more…)

Bush League Tactics

[soliloquy id=”322″]St Lucie Democratic Party Chair, Celeste Bush, Shuts Out Local Candidates

In last Sunday’s paper, columnist Anthony Westbury took the local Democratic Party to task for not allowing a Democrat to have his petitions signed at the St Lucie County Fair.

Democrats fail to play fair at the Fair.
Democrat’s tent is closed to all but a select few.
Sal Anicito is looking to mount a primary challenge to incumbent Chris Dzadovsky in one of three races for County Commissioner. Mr. Anicito’s participation in the election is not welcomed by Celeste Bush, Chairwoman of the Democratic Party of St Lucie.  To paraphrase Ms. Bush, ‘Many who are running are unknown to me or the party insiders, and we only give time to those we think can win.’ You can translate that to “I get to decide who gets their petitions signed at the fair and who gets to talk to the public.” (more…)

Education’s Techology Black Hole

Is money spent on school technology money well spent?

We are being sucked into the educational technology black hole by focusing more and more of our educational budget on technology infrastructure, software, and hardware.

With the creation of Common Core (the federal government’s attempt at taking over our local school systems) the requirement that all state testing is done on computers to allow quick analysis and feedback to our educators has been established.  Unfortunately, so far, we have not seen (more…)
