Another shot heard ’round the world.
“Why aren’t I 50 points ahead you might ask.” -Hillary Clinton, Sept 23, 2016.
I initially decided not to write about the election of Donald Trump. I did not want to gloat about the black swan we saw on the horizon, or how we knew the polls were wrong. However, we here at BecauseThisMatters got it right.
Back in September when Hillary Clinton was ordering curtains for the family quarters at the White House, we told you what would happen. We had told you before Michael Moore gave his “biggest FU in recorded history” speech. It was Bobby Thompson’s home run, the Miracle on Ice, Rocky Balboa, and the colonists against the British Regulars, all rolled into one. It made you feel like Russ Hodges screaming, “The Giants win the pennant. The Giants win the pennant. The Giants win the pennant.” It was such a defeat that the mainstream media could not believe how wrong they were that night and still cannot figure out what happened to their power to herd the American public as they have done for the past many years. After watching the media for a week, I see they believe they are still right, we just are much more stupid than they initially thought.
The ends do not justify the means.
No amount of Wikileaks showing the outright collusion between news reporters, journalists and the Clinton campaign caused them any pause in their march towards a world ruled by the global elite. “We were cheating? So what, tell us something we don’t already know,” was their attitude when caught.
To the mainstream media, cheating and being caught at it did not matter because they were on the side of intellectual superiority. It was their job; their calling in life to lead the great unwashed through the desert to their version of Shangri-La where white men are subservient unless they sport a man-bun on the back of their head or dress like sherpas in clothes made from hemp and work at tech upstarts.
They used terms like “college educated women and men” when speaking of Clinton supporters. Code words which mean if you supported Trump you were not enlightened, but were an idiot to be shunned and shamed. They cheered in private when Clinton used the words ‘deplorable’ and ‘irredeemable’ when speaking of half of Trump’s supporters. Finally, they thought, someone with the courage to tell the truth. They did such a good job at demonizing and marginalizing Trump supporters that Trump supporters most likely lied to any pollster they came across out of fear of being verbally abused or worse.
All that tolerance makes me feel all warm and gushy.
No one likes a sore loser.
Barely hours after being named President-elect Donald J. Trump by teary-eyed news commentators anarchists took to the streets in protest. Protest is fine, rioting is not. Somehow all this election stuff is not fair. Hillary was supposed to win. All the news broadcasts said so; all the polls said so; every college professor said so; Beyonce said so; Madonna even offered sexual acts in return for voting for Clinton. (FYI to Madonna. Sex with dead people is called necrophilia and illegal in most states.)
Dozens of celebrities bet the house, literally, that Hillary would win. Promising or threatening that they would leave the United States if Trump were elected. I have written this on Facebook; I will rephrase it here. — I did not know where you lived prior to November 8th, why should I care where you live on November 9th?
Regardless, your bluff has been called, don’t let the door hit you on the way out. The ladies of the View can be just as annoying, gross, unfunny, and un-newsworthy, from Canada, or Mexico, or Yemen. Sorry Whoopi, sorry Amy, sorry Cher, sorry Rosie, sorry Kanye, no one cares where you live. Least of all, me. Before the election, I purchased stock in Mayflower Movers, Georgia Pacific, because they make boxes and companies that make those biodegradable packing peanuts. Now, get packing.
They shoot horses, don’t they?
The favorite horse in any race only wins 35% of the time. I like to watch horses run, and I do not mind placing a wager occasionally, I am surprised that number is as high as it is. Hillary Clinton was a bad horse. She was not the favorite because of her past performances. She was the favorite because the media wanted her to win. At the track, betting lots of money on one horse does not make it run faster.
The media wanted this to be Hillary’s coronation to the point of glossing over that the DNC had to cheat so Hillary could get past Bernie Sanders. As soon Debbie Wasserman-Schultz resigned her position of Chairwoman of the DNC in disgrace, Clinton hired her. It is nice to know there is honor among thieves. Wasserman-Schultz’ replacement? None other than Donna Brazile, the CNN commentator who fed the Clinton campaign debate questions. That music you hear in the back of your head is Sister Sledge’s 1979 hit, We are Family.
It is right there in front of you if you know what you are looking at.
Once there was a young boy who lived outside the kingdom. Each day he pulled a red wagon full of garbage out of the front gate. The guard at the gate would stop the boy and examine the trash. “Boy, why are you taking this trash?” the guard would ask. The boy just shrugged his shoulders. This happened every day for months. Each day the guard did his job going through the trash, not finding anything of value and sending the boy on his way. Eventually, the boy stopped coming by his guard tower. Soon after there was a newsflash in the kingdom, all the red wagons were missing. It was all there to see for anyone who cared to look. The most corrupt politician ever. Ever is a long time. Selling favors and access and America to anyone who would pony up some cash. If not for the painstaking work of some citizen journalists no one would ever know. Citizen journalism will be the future. The NYTimes, Washington Post, and CNN are dead or dying. They just do not know it yet.
No one will care about the emails.
It was not the emails but what they contained, and breaking the law just because it was not convenient to follow the law does not make it any less illegal.
Clinton pointed to Comey as one reason she lost. Comey did not set up the private server, nor transmitted classified information over unsecured email servers, nor lied to Congress about them, nor deleted 30,000 emails, and destroyed the hard drives that were the subject of subpoenas. That was Clinton’s doing. Her staff knew the email issue was a problem. Leaked emails show they were concerned about the matter years ago.
The bottom line was there was no reason beyond an extra X chromosome to vote for Hillary. Obamacare was cratering as expected. Hillary had no problem reminding people about her failed Hillarycare. “Hey everyone, see how bad Obamacare is. I proposed it back in the 90’s.”
The economy is worse than the mainstream media is reporting. People understand the economy, although they might not understand the charts and graphs and big words. Their only economic barometer is the pain at the end of the month when they have to figure out how to make it to next payday.
Her foreign policy experience was nothing if not a complete disaster. She had so little to run on that she spent the last two months of the campaign talking about nothing but Donald Trump in front of crowds drawn in only by musical artists and not by Hillary. It’s like a free weekend at Disney but you have to sit through a very painful 3-hour timeshare sales presentation. It’s a mistake you’ll only make once in your life.
That, briefly, is why Hillary lost.
The never ending story.
Normally, this would be the last entry about Hillary Clinton. I rarely think about Mitt Romney or John McCain, and McCain is still a Senator. Clinton has no official position, no power. The Democratic Party will move on and try to figure out how they got beat so badly. They will spend the next few years figuring out how to get more dead people to the polls.
I imagine that Clinton’s Foundation will soon run dry of big donors, their reason to make donations no longer exists. However, this is not the last we will hear from Hillary. This is not over for her. Her ‘precious’ twice denied she will become vengeful. Clinton could call for calm in the streets and college campuses, but she will not, neither will nor has Obama.
Buckle up, this train is just leaving the station.
